Glyn,
Just finished reading Promises to the Fallen. When guys would die they would ask you to do them a favor or promise... Like you repeated Don’t Mean nothing. I found that I could relate to some chapters during my tour 3/69-2/70. You made the reading easy for guys like me who look back on those days good or bad. The description of a REMF was spot on but they were needed for the us in the field. Again a great book , now I’m searching for another to read any suggestions?

Sir,
First I want to thank you for your service. The disrespect shown to you and many others when you came home was ridiculous.
I just finished the first book in the series, Promises to the Fallen. This book kept me coming back to it, often staying up far too late to keep on reading. I’ve already ordered the next two in the series.
I know you say this book is a work of fiction, but I truthfully do not believe that. I feel as though you are speaking about your experiences, as it all felt very real and couldn’t be just fiction.
. . . Thank you again for your service and for writing such a great book. I cannot wait to read the next two.

Dear Glyn,
I have enjoyed reading all your books so far and was excited to hear you have more coming. You have the ability to put your readers right in the action. Not all authors are able to do this. All your books are fast - paced reads even though the subject matter is serious. I can tell you are very concerned about your comrades in arms and remain so to this day.
Thank you, Susan

Glyn,
…Finished the book some time ago and found it a great read tough very touching at times. Tho' I was never in Nam, my training through basic, Infantry Officer Basic Course and Ranger School, was all Vietnam oriented and what they were training us is exactly what you describe in the book. Even including how we packed our rucks during the many days Ranger patrols. Was concerned about the ending until I got there and was pleased and touched by it. The epilogue was great…

...I want to tell you how much I loved your book! Your descriptive writing style made me feel as if I were in the jungle of Vietnam along with the soldiers, and I was heartbroken with the loss of each man. You did a fantastic job of illuminating what the Vietnam War was like, and I have so much more appreciation for Vietnam veterans after reading your book. Not that I didn't appreciate their sacrifices before, but your book makes it so much more personalized and real. It should be required reading for students! I also want to take the opportunity to thank you for your service.

Reading Glyn's work was an honor and a pleasure. His vivid descriptions and dynamic action scenes, combined with a pinch of humor and a talent to portray the every-day in times of war, make his story - inspired by his time in Vietnam - a relatable and informative read for book lovers of all ages.

I really liked your plot. As someone who is about thirty years removed from the politics around that era, it is something I don’t know too much about, other than the conditions were horrible (which is putting it nicely) and there was a whole lot of opposition to the war in the first place. I thought you handled it from the perspective of someone in the war and including the voices around the war as some sort of background, really nicely. I felt for these guys. I really did. I felt like I walked away from this book with a firsthand account of some sort of overview of how this war really was from the eyes of someone who was there. The cincher for me is in the way you bring things up, then stick with them to bring them up at later points in the book. It shows how much you care, how much you thought about your plot and how you didn’t overlook anything.

I learned so much about what my brother faced etc. I thank you for writing this book. Although it is fiction, it will give readers the heat of the war and what our soldiers went through. …I have to admit, I am learning a great deal about that damn hell war. This book should be a must-read in some sort of history class.
